My Bass, the Lord’s Extension

Groovin’ with God

I’ve spent countless hours with my faithful five-stringed companion, plucking the stings, crafting melodies, and stirring up rhythms that reverberate right into the soul. But over time, this instrument became more than just a vehicle for music. It morphed into an extension of the Lord, becoming a conduit for sharing His divine love, grace, and message.

Think about it – the vibrations of the strings resonate through the bass, reaching out to listeners, just as the Word of God resonates within us, guiding us towards His eternal love. The lower frequency notes from my bass act as grounding reminders of the depths of His forgiveness, the strength of His love, the foundations of our faith. The higher notes, they inspire, elevate, push us towards compassion, kindness, and divine wisdom.

In this sense, each note I pluck is like a prayer, a testament to His glory. When I’m onstage, immersed in the holy act of making music, it’s akin to being at the altar. My bass is my pulpit, my stage is my chapel, and my audience, my congregation. Together, we engage in a form of worship, bound by the universal language of music.

My journey wasn’t always this holy though. I strayed, got lost in the decibels of life’s noise. My past, littered with temptation, it was a heavy song to play. But here’s the thing about basslines and grace, both are about timing, rhythm and the resolution of tension. The Lord gave me a second chance, helped me get back on beat, and just like a sweet resolution in a complicated piece of music, I found my path, my rhythm in His service.

Now I rock harder than ever, not just for the thrill of it, but to channel the divine energy, the Holy Spirit, through each strum, each note, each beat. My past mistakes, my transgressions, they’re a part of my song, my testimony. I share it, so others might find solace, might realize that no matter how out of tune life gets, there’s always a way back to harmony.

So the next time you see a bass guitar, think of it as more than just an instrument. See it as a vessel, carrying the good vibes of the Lord. And if you listen closely, you might just hear the echo of divine love in the rhythm.

Remember, brothers and sisters, the only thing deeper than my lyrics is the hole humanity has dug itself. But guess what, we’ve got the groove of God to help us climb out. Play Hard, Pray Hard, and keep the faith alive!
